Ball to Richard Harvey Wright, June 22, 1885 Author: Lucy W. Ball Date: June 22, 1885 Note: In this letter from Lucy W. Ball to, her brother, Richard Harvey Wright, she asks about Richard and Mamie Exum Wright's baby daughter, Mamie Wright's health. She had been ill for some time. Lucy urges Richard to bring the baby to her in Greensboro, North Carolina so Lucy can heal the ailing child for a while. Lucy reminds her brother that she and her husband, Mr. Ball, plan to rent a house in Asheville, North Carolina, because Mr. Ball is unwell with dyspepsia. Lucy suggests that richard bring his baby and wife to Asheville if the baby's health does not improve in Greensboro. P: Richard Harvey Wright Papers, 1870-1952, David M. Asheville (N.C.) Danbury & keep our horse & buggy there & ride out to the spring every morning & evening to get my demijohn full of water to drink - We aim to stay 6 or 7 weeks if we can get the house. If we do, I want you & Nannie to agree to take the baby there instead of Asheville. Stay here & lets (Correction: let's) try to get her stronger before starting - We will not want to go yet - I don't care about starting before the middle of August or even later if the baby does well here. The reason we decided to go is on account of Mr. Ball's health - He is very feeble - Dyspepsia, piles & bowels
