Ball to, her brother, Richard Harvey Wright, she asks about Richard and Mamie Exum Wright's baby daughter, Mamie Wright's health. She had been ill for some time. Lucy urges Richard to bring the baby to her in Greensboro, North Carolina so Lucy can heal the ailing child for a while. Lucy reminds her brother that she and her husband, Mr. Ball, plan to rent a house in Asheville, North Carolina, because Mr. Ball is unwell with dyspepsia. Asheville (N.C.) I have just received Nannie's favor of the 21st inst & am sad to learn that the dear, sweet baby is sick. Bring her to me at once. I am sure we can find some nice white lady to share her baby's milk with your little darling, provided the swiss-woman's milk does not perfectly agree. Mrs. Crawford, our minister's wife has an infant only a few weeks old, & she is one of the best of women, will spare all she can; & I am confident that scalded milk with catnip tea (like I fed Mac on - did you know I fed him entirely by hand after trying wet nurses a few weeks?) & other old-lady's remedies will do her good. Don't be alarmed - Mac had the same trouble many, many times over - and yet that hot climate is over-powering to her, but I hope she will stand it yet, 'till you can get away with her -
