I would have answered, but expected to have seen you here last Saturday - I went out to see my Uncle who is very ill that evening hence I missed seeing you. Very sorry I could not see you to bid you fare well & wish you much success in your new undertakings. You deserve success. Any one who runs the risk of life (???) as you do, and works as you work, ought to succeed. I am rather sorry though, you did not conclude to come to Durham & settle down with your new wife & live a more easy life. I can't see why you want to make so much money. You can only use so much of this worldy (???) good (???) and no more - then have to die &
