walk + skip about like 10,000 thousand [sic] English sparrows: as are on the vines about our Porch.- It is amusing to hear those chatterings in morning + evening making the w[alk]ing [?] ring

Louisa , Mary, May, Lena, + Jerry are worshipful of Annie Southgate "cousin Annie" I certainly hope you will meet with cousin Augusta Christian + All her daughters. I once knew her + her sister Betty Hailey, but all are married now + plenty- chappies are blooming around as lovely flowers.

Mrs Fuller, Kate Minnie + Nellie, are full of love for Annie I enclose a lovely poem for baby- Sister has written for Zac a letter to you With much love + devotion for every person in the Retreat who loves Annie From J. D. Mat, J. H., Kate, Lessie, Papa + Mother + 500 others I will script you each day. Love to Dr C. Mrs Jenkins Sarah Johnson + [Ida Parlmer?]
