I had a talk with Dr. Watkins in regard to the questions you asked me your letter. He brought the deeds down yesterday and they are now in the safe. He has not paid his subscription yet, that is, the due bill for bal. $2004.41 nor the rebate on insurance. Exum has paid nothing either, the Dr. said he would have collected it but did not want to call on him until after Court as he (Exum) was busy. Dr. Watkins says the trade was closed for the mill Sept. 1st while the papers were not executed until about the 15" and he thought the expenses after that time should go to a/c of new firm. I applied
