He lists bills from McRae and from Mrs. Martin, who operates the boarding house in Chapel Hill in which McCord lives.

I wrote you some time ago for $10.00, but failing to hear from you , will write again. I wrote you on the 6" Inst. It would not cost so much if I had a room mate, but I can do much better by myself. I am doing well and am practising on speed in my short hand. Can write 65 words a minute. Intend to write a hundred before June. Am boarding at Mrs. Martin's. She
