Dr. Watkins left here last Monday with his brother Charlie Watkins, told me he had to go on business, he did not return until yesterday morning (Thursday). Petty came down Wednesday I think. I have been on the Jury all the week and could not be at the mill except for a short time early in the morning. Consequently I could not give the matters of which you ask me about any attention. Will do so and report to you at once. I think machinery &c. is nearly ready for work. I have cleaned up the office all right and got every thing of the kind in good shape
