BINGHAM HOUSE PHILADELPHIA, 5/22 1887
Dear Tommie

On arrival & receipt of your letter of 19th I wired you "buy R&M out on best terms you can." I hope you have seen them & secured the cutters on favorable terms I fear they will continue to advance although a good crop may be planted & raised this year I do not see how it can affect prices of the 86 crop as there is no surplus of the 85 crop cutters on the mkt. Write me on receipt of this c/o Metropolitan Hotel Washington what you did if anything. The crop grown this year can not be used at all til (???)
