Dear Richard,

Your valued favor of 7" inst. enclosed with Nannies written from Brindisi came to hand a few days since and as pr advice will address to N.Y.- Am glad to learn you will so soon be at home. I am feeling very unwell to day and will ask you to be content with a short letter. Besides I hardly know what to say as ther has been but little change in our business since I last wrote yo all things considered guess we are doing as well as could be expected. Petty was out a few weeks since and drummed up a fairly good lot of orders, which we are pushing through as fast as possible. No change of note on our books since last report. I think, we are slowly getting on a more substantial basis. Petty and C. Strickland are making tools, and we are doing better and
